Thinking Out Loud. Musically that is....

1. I think a lot of music companies are exploitative. Or how else do you explain the fact that Enrique Iglesias keeps getting his contract signed? The man can’t sing to save his soul.
2. In hip hop videos it tickles me to see the guys dressed like it was the worst winter in Canada and yet the girls in the same video are dressed like they are in Ibiza or St Lucia on the beach.
3. I think Amy Winehouse is a brilliant singer and may I suggest that nobody ever take her to rehab because I bet she will come out singing awful. Give her something to be depressed about and she will always be on the charts.
4. Victizzle won a MOBO for Best Gospel Act; I personally think DTWG should have won.
5. The Black Eyed Peas!! Don’t get me started on them, as a group they are awful (some good songs). But as individuals (meaning Fergie and Will-I-am). They alright.
6. Liza Minnelli is one hell of a performer. Frank Sinatra I adore. Nat King Cole was and is the ultimate. Ozzy ROCKS!!!!! Dionne Warwick is just Awesome.
7. Bigiano and Durella did songs about alcohol and drinking it and those songs are big sellers. What does that tell you about?? Drink and BE MERRY!!!!
8. I think Nigerian music has come a long way but there is still plenty to improve on but I proudly blast naija sounds… we too mush.
9. I wonder why my family thinks I am weird for loving Trance Music. I used to think it was weird too but 4years on I am its biggest Fan!!!
10. Onyeka Onwenu is still Nigeria’s number 1 Diva. The rest are just counterfeits well except for Yinka Davies. That woman is in a league of her on.
11. 2face Idibia in my opinion is so well over rated; there are better Nigerian Artistes than him I am sure.
12. I am GaGa for Lady GaGa; I think the Noisettes need to make more noise about their music. David Guetta is a great D.J/Producer and don’t think of convincing me otherwise.
13. Akon, T.Pain, Chipmunk, Timaya, Booty Luv, Bigiano, Pixie Lott, Daddy Showkey, Black Eyed Peas, Taio Cruz, Kathy Perry and many more that couldn’t be named should be put in some kind of Musical Jail.
14. Love all the idols, but the level of desperation and sob stories have gone up a notch this year. C’mon people it’s either you can’t sing or there is someone else better than you. Stop begging and telling us you are doing this for your Grandmother who is dying, she is probably dying because you have been singing to her… DUH…
15. Why is that some people have beautiful songs and it sounds so wonderful to listen to but when you watch the video it is a total put off e.g. Agnes (Release me), Madonna(err most of her videos), Nice, D’banj, Beyonce (Single Ladies and a number of her videos). Seriously Kanye West must have been drunk to say that was the best video. Pure nonsense.
16. Jay-Z the C.E.O of hip hop I have mad love for the man but these last few albums I am not feeling him like before. P.Diddy didn’t he expire a number of years ago? Diddy just continue to be a tailor, it suits you better than being a rapper. Snoop Dogg is my first love as a rapper but why on earth did he agree to do that stupid TV show? Dude seriously why??
17. Is there really a group called Pussy Cat Dolls? I swear it should be called Nicole and her Backup Dancers. At least in Beyonce’s case it used to be Beyonce and her Backup Singers.
18. Girls aloud make me smile. Sugababes seriously you girls died years ago just admit it. JLS!! My God!! Whoever shot your video “Beat Again” just damaged your careers before it started. I mean 4 guys in a Garage, dressed similarly, dancing and holding each other with neon lights kind of spell G-A-Y to me.
19. My love for Missy Elliott has no bounds. She is one hell of a rapper and an excellent producer. MC Lyte still has that swagger. I thought Ms Jade would have been bigger and better but I guess not.
20. I love this musician, composer and broadcaster. His name is Steve Bankole Omodele Rhodes aka Steve Rhodes. The best there ever was and not just because he was Granddad but because he did it and he did it well; he never cut corners.
21. The Neptunes are brilliant producers. Timbaland is so distinctive and just good. Kanye West makes too much noise but as a producer he does his job well. Swizz Beats should be given more respect that man is a genius. Sycience in a few more years would be The Man!!
22. Now who told Ramsey Noah, Osuofia, Omotola and Genevieve that they could sing? No seriously who did? This is why I say some record companies are rogues.
23. Jeremih and that song “Birthday Sex”. The song explains itself. It is just sexy
24. I grew up in 90’s so hip hop is my first love, followed by Neo Soul. Every other genre of music comes after.
25. I totally love Donna Summer and I believe she is an institute. Now that Whitney Houston is back all those wannabes should move out because number 1 is back and I so need to go and see her in concert.
26. Whoever invented Grime should be shot. That is absolute crap and Noise. Thank God Dizzee Rascal had the sense to move to Bass. Good move kid.
27. My love for TY Bello is beyond measure. The kokomaster somehow that title suits him but I think Durella is better (please don’t crucify me). Asa. In fact how would you describe her let me know?
28. My dream band is this: Quest love on Drums. Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy) on Bass. Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) on Guitar. John Legend on the Keys. Winton Marsalis on the Trumpet. Lagbaja on Sax. Kamal Gray on the Keyboards. Raphael Saadiq – Vocals. Bilah – Vocals. Beyonce – Vocals. Yinka Davies – Vocals. Musiq Soul Child – Vocals. Erykah Badu – Lead Vocals. Guest Rappers Lauryn Hill and Talib Kweli. And the band would be lead by Hugh Maskela. Wouldn’t the music just sound divine?
29. I personally encourage singing in the shower especially if you want t to annoy your partner but also I find thinking in shower is brilliant because most of my thoughts today were done in the shower.
30. The truth is I am addicted to Music. My radio is my best mate and interesting whilst I was writing this piece I had music on the whole time.
